Communications and Member Services
Gary Cyphers, Deputy Executive Director (bio)
APHSA's Communications and Member Services Department is responsible for public and media
relations, marketing, conferences, member services, publications, advertising,
publication sales, web site (www.aphsa.org),
Job Bank, and subscriptions. The association has routine contact with major
media outlets.
Publications include the Public Human Services Directory, which is
published annually. The directory is a telephone, address, and e-mail guide to
public human services nationwide. The department also solicits articles, edits,
and publishes Policy & Practice of the Public Human Services, a
quarterly magazine reporting on issues that affect human service
professionals. Other publications include This Week In Washington,
W-Memo, and special reports on timely topics, all of which are produced by the department.
The association's web site contains a wealth of information for members and
others interested in public human services. The department provides links to
APHSA's affiliates and to dozens of other organizations that have a connection
to the field and is currently in the process of adding even more services to the
web site.
